Poem – Devastated

Pain is temporary or so they say, can actions and words hurt just brief

hateful and intended, brutal and malicious, these are the characteristics of which thy plea

Caused by reasons unknown and an imbalance of chemicals, excuses that seem benign but so true

Happy or sad, I’ve condemned them all, and when said and done, banishment is well accepted

Hands and knees I fall, knowing I could lose it all. I look to the skies for more, but caring is not the cure

Looped thoughts and sounds may fade, but etched in my brain they’ll forever lay

How to reverse the hands of time, to make all that I have caused, undone

Restless ’til end I know, to ash I know i’ll go

Father, don’t let me go.
