Poem – Reject Yourself

I can’t begin to fathom how this all came to be, like a snake in the grass crept up on thee
Frayed but calm is all we can see, from within oneself the monster truly reigns over me

Shapeless, nameless and unforgiving too, he whispers requests that gives me the noose

Scared to a point but we are use to the pain, his words mean nothing but actions still aim

Did you come to cry at what has become, or is it the journey in front that’s made you confront

Falling, slipping, I’m out of control, grabbing for nothing but slime covered stone

Let me down gently as hell is all that waits, for the pain down there will be all but despair

The games are over for I don’t know what comes, but find comfort that I gave all that I had.
